Content Warning entries in the feed should list why it is marked as such

Thedrass 9 years ago updated by Neotheta 9 years ago 7

When scrolling through the feed when a user has blacklist tags, entries appear that say `CONTENT WARNING`.

It would be great if these entries could list the tags that lead to this warning.

Animated GIF submissions support

aaros 9 years ago updated by Digby (Community Manager) 8 years ago 3

I wanna upload stuff like this to this site! Can we allow for animated GIF submissions? And animated preview icons of them? That would be very rad.

Add a confirmation message on the password changing page saying "Your password was changed!" or something to that effect in order to notify the user that it was successful.

Morinya 9 years ago updated by Varka (Spokesdragon) 9 years ago 4 1 duplicate

I just went to change my password, and nothing happened when I tried to change it. I tried again, and nothing happened again. It looks like it worked the first time, but there was no confirmation clarifying as such, nor was there a notification telling me it didn't work the second time. It's just a minor thing, but it's vital to prevent confusion!

Group '@X followed @X' messages together in a user's feed

Karabiner 9 years ago updated by Digby (Community Manager) 8 years ago 3

I can see the benefit of having 'this person followed @X' in a profile's feed, but at the moment multiple subsequent ones appear individually and clutter up the page - If someone follows more than one person at a time, I feel these should be grouped together to say '@X followed 6 people', for example.

True SFW Mode / Hide Content Warnings

ChangeWing 9 years ago updated by LionsPhil 9 years ago 2

There are those of us who would rather not see adult work. On the other hand, there are a lot of really talented artists that one may wish to follow who do primarily NSFW work, with a few SFW pieces intermixed. For that we have content filtering. Even then, I generally leave windows open unattended, and having large "CONTENT WARNING" boxes all over the screen raises eyebrows. There should be an option to ONLY show SFW posts. In this mode, you should have to go into the settings to disable it, rather than the quick menu. There should be no indication that anything other than SFW (or whatever you set) is available on the site.

Building off of the 'mature' requests that I've seen, it would be nice to have options for each type of work:
General - Hide, Warn, Blur, Show
Mature - Hide, Warn, Blur, Show

Adult - Hide, Warn, Blur, Show

(I also added blur as a suggestion as It can give you an idea of the style of the work without seeing everything. Some people may prefer that to complete blackouts, because it tells you nothing about what to expect)

You could even customize it based on individual tags, rather than just block something, you could choose to hide it, blur it, or warn it.

Set thumbnails native aspect ratio rather than squares

Antiroo 9 years ago updated by Artex 8 years ago 21

The thumbnail is the first impression a viewer gets of a piece of artwork. There's a great deal of thought and effort that goes into creating a good composition at a distance, and this effort is usually ruined by cropping the edges to create a square thumbnail.

Additionally character shots end up with heads cropped off, and the focal point getting shifted.

This is bad for both artists and people who are seeking art, as they do not get to see the piece in it's intended form.

While this may make the webpage look cleaner, it makes the artwork contained look worse.

Frictionless commenting and comment incentives

Astolpho 9 years ago updated by Digby (Community Manager) 8 years ago 4

In the list view in What's New, add a text entry field under every submission to enter a comment without having to click through to the submission. Feedback and approval are a huge factor in what keeps artists motivated to continue posting, and if you remove a click from the process, you'll encourage more people to do it.

Additionally, it would be really nice if there was any kind of incentive for people to leave feedback on artwork, even if it was purely cosmetic, like achievements (i.e. profile badges for 10 comments in an hour or 100 in a week, leaving a comment on every image in an artist's gallery, X comments in excess of 50 words, etc) or a karma rating in relation to number/length of comments left in the last four to six weeks.

Favorite Tags

Beast Shocked NSFW 9 years ago updated by Digby (Community Manager) 8 years ago 4 3 duplicates

On the Artwork/Photos/Stories/Multimedia pages it would be nice to have a set of "favorite tags" listed above "popular tags." That way users don't have to type in their favorite tags.

Give an option to hide users that I'm following, favorites, from my profile

Kida 9 years ago updated by Digby (Community Manager) 8 years ago 4

Something a friend of mine suggested; some people don't want others to see who they're following or what they favorite, so having some privacy options to hide these things would be nice! I personally would appreciate a feature similar to FA, where I can hide my favorites of a certain rating.

Support for small time Vendor/Shops- Selling small run items

Lysander 9 years ago updated by Digby (Community Manager) 8 years ago 2

There are a lot of times where artists have items made for cons and they dont always sell out. Currently most of us do some sort of form and paypal transaction and comment auction/form to sell the items. This is usually messy and cumbersome and technically not allowed by most payment processors when it is NSFW. It would be great to see some sort of support run beside the commission feature eventually that allowed artists to just sell prints or products directly using the same system.

Also, thanks for all the work you are putting into the site. It looks to be shaping up very nicely and im super excited to try out the new commissioning feature. Ive been burned by artists and commissioners before and heard so many horror stories with no sort tangible way to do anything about it.
