"commented on" posts need clarification
The header doesn't show the original author's name anywhere, it makes people confused.
Should be something like "X commented on A's post". Or maybe display original author's icon and name at the post area (like the comments display).
The Activity Feed now shows which piece received a comment. This should resolve the issue with notifications.
Blocking combinations of tags, rather than individual ones.
This is a problem I've had with several other sites that feature tag blocking -- it's an all-or-nothing blanket ban regardless of context. There may, however, be one or two specific, common uses of a tag that lead you to blacklist it all outright, causing you to miss artwork or stories that you would otherwise enjoy.
For example, let's say you're a fan of Pokemon. You're also a fan of football. You aren't, however, a fan of seeing Pokemon play football. Your first impulse would be to block either the "Pokemon" or "football" tag, but that would cause you to miss out on Pokemon art, football art, or both.
But, if there were a system in place where you could ban anything that has both the "Pokemon" and "football" tags, but not anything that only has one of these tags, then your problem is solved. You can see Pokemon art, you can see football art, but you'll never again have to see a Lucario score a touchdown.
Sticker Emotes!
Allowing sticker support for uploading your own set of emotes to be able to use in comments! Similar to how Telegram uses them :) This would be SUPER cool on an art oriented web site, especially with how popular sets of (Telegram)Stickers are right now!
Navigation Bar Changes
The navigation bar across the top of the site elements collapsed/added/changed to make it better for users. The way it works currently adds many unnecessary clicks for users.
I already posted one suggestion specifically about the notification icon. Here are a few more general things I very strongly would suggest:
- Instead of having "artwork - photos - stories - multimedia" etc in the navigation bar just collapse those into a "what's new" and "what's popular" link and add tabs for different kinds of content on the "new" and "popular" pages instead.
- Add a "submit content" button next to the notifications area of the navigation bar.
- Have the username link back to your userpage so you can eliminate an extra click when you want to view your userpage.
- Put the "what's new" link instead as a notification icon in the navigation bar to save a click.
- Separate different kinds of notifications into different icons as described in the other suggestion I linked
Please do this...All the extra clicks to do common things like going to your profile really add up.
The site navigation has changed significantly, and at this point, it's close to finalized. We've made a button specifically for the gallery and to upload. Clicking on your own name also takes you back to your profile now. Notifications have also been separated into categories.
Regiatration Date on Profiles
It'd be nice to know if someone is a new user or not for spam purposes; like giveaways etc. to prevent users from making multiple profiles and using them to enter. It's nice to see regardless :3
Empty Spaces on Galleries when Scrolling
There seems to be an inconsistent bug when scrolling through galleries, I find it hard to replicate if you refresh the page.
It shows up whenever I keep scrolling through the gallery, I guess it fails to load some thumbnails or just makes empty space between images, I'm not sure.
A fix for this is being worked on right now, and should make it out in the next update.
BB-Code
I'd be nice if alongside Markdown, we could get BB-Code and/pr HTML.
The reason being that as far I'm aware. Markdown isn't widely used and therefor not a lot of people actually use it and atop of that a lot of people are used to using something else.
It would be nice if we could get the most commonly used instead of Markdown or have multiple alongside Markdown if changing it to something else, is to much of a hassle. Will make it much easier for everything in the long run.
If that is out of the question, then please make it easier to do stuff in general, like I've seen suggested for stories, all over the site by having a toolbar so we can get bold, font etc. Done easier... Also colored text would be awesome <.=.<
Create a universal tagging system with a rating system to allow users to block tags by rating. Automatically block certain tags for all users so they have to manually unlock them.
So there was a recent request to ban cub porn on this site, and the recent response on Twitter has left a lot of people with -skewed- moral compasses more than upset.
However, I believe the solution is much simple than just restricting freedom speech (As long as no existing, living persons are being abused or harrassed.) Like Inkbunny, there should be a tagging system, however, unlike Inkbunny, this tagging system should be more universal, similar to how e621.net and other 'booru sites do this. Basically, create a synonym system to where words related to a universal tag are categorized as that one tag. For example, gay, male/male, m/m, homosexual, all get categorized as the universal tag "gay"
With this being said, This universal tagging system should have levels of rating. For example, watersports/urine can be blocked based on level of sexual lewdness or violence (General, Mature, Extreme) As the universal tagging system exists, All users should be subject to this tag blocking based on maturity level. By then, it is the user's responsibility to unblock certain features they find they like, rather than lose people due to cub art being on the ride.
This is sort of two features in one - "tag aliasing" (eg where one tag 'means' the same thing as another), and the ability to blacklist tags by rating (eg, only blacklist 'gay' if its rated mature or higher).
I can't find any topics on either by searching - so I'm going to leave this one in place to see what demand would be like for these two features.
Happy voting!
Profile Badges
Implementing Color/Symbol coded badges somewhere on a user profile to tell browsing users what he/she is/does in the community (the below list are a few examples/ideas)
- Artist
- Art Collector
- Art Fan
- Character/Sona
-Fursuiter
-Crafter
-Fursuit Creator
-Writer
-Musician
*This could solve the issue with confusion on 'Character' on FN really meaning profile
*You could have a limit on how many you could choose ( max 3 or something)
Please Make This Site Into a App
