Remove border from images
I noticed when adding an image with markdown code a gray border is around it. This makes transparent PNGs look weird. Perhaps a global bit of code could be added to the stylesheets to remove all borders from images? I don't know if that will mess with submissions BUT it's so thin I don't think it will.
img {border:0 !important;}
Strict Transport Security (HSTS) and HSTS Preloading
Provide support for Strict Transport Security (HSTS) and HSTS Preloading with a large max-age to improve security of Furry Network. This will help prevent against downgrade attacks against the site as well as break ssl stripping. This will become more important as time moves on, but implementing a higher level of security helps Furry Network stand out among furry sites. This will also help mitigate cookie injection attacks
Forums
FurryNetwork needs a site-integrated Forum that allows its members to connect with each other, discuss topics and share art well beyond.
This would be a good idea how to kickstart discussions, because so far we are only limited to this support forum which is horrendous.
Scroll to the top of the "What's New" page when Clear All is clicked
If you click "Clear All" while scrolled down the page, it won't make it clear that you need to go to the top in order to respond to the confirmation box.
Perhaps the confirmation should appear regardless of where the user is on the page, or the user should be scrolled to the top of the page when "Clear All" is clicked.
3D model preview support for Marmoset Toolbag and Sketchfab
It would be nice if we could show off 3D works right on the site with the help of the Marmoset Toolbag viewer or Sketchfab instead of just using still images. Maybe handle it sort of the way Artstation.com does.
More useful page titles (in browser tabs)
All pages on the site currently have the title "Furry Network". It'd be more useful if they showed a descriptive title, for example "Furry Network - Varka" if I was viewing my profile, or "Furry Network - Popular Art" etc.
Web Notification support for site notifications?
Could you possibly add Notification API support for notifications on the site? This would allow users to keep a tab open, and get real time notifications as they arrive, just as if it were a desktop application. The API is supported in all modern browsers now, and users can opt out easily with each browser.
Content warning thumbnails blocked from inbox
When i turn on ‘general’ viewing filter, 80% of my inbox are content warnings! it would be better to have them not show up at all.
Showing them does not really have any benefits in my opinion anyway
Unable to upload thumbnail for multimedia files.
Upon trying by either browse or drag & drop uploading a thumbnail fails either after uploading or by simply closing the dialog at 0% after a few seconds. Saving after this changes nothing. Encountered using Chrome.
Browser add-on similar to FA Extender
I would say the main thing that has made FurAffinity my preferred furry art site isn't even a part of FA itself, but the Firefox add-on "FA Extender." (I won't link to it but it's easy to find via Google).
The only thing I use it for is its download functionality, in which it places an extra download link on a submission page, which when clicked, will not only save the image to pre-determined folder on disk, but also, most importantly automatically places it in a sub-folder named for the artist's username (creating the folder if it doesn't exist).
This specific functionality of FA Extender has been crucial in my ability to keep up with all the great artists I follow, for collecting their works into an organized folder structure locally. I can't even begin to guess the amount of time it has saved me from navigating through folders in save windows. For people who follow many artists, those seconds can really add up over time.
I know this is not possible to implement as part of the site itself, due to the requirements of it interacting with the user's local file system (which some may perceive as a security risk but as a browser add-on it would be entirely the user's choice whether to install the add-on or not, and I'm sure it would be discovered fairly quickly if there were some problem with it.) I also believe that the specific download functionality I am talking about is currently only possible with Firefox, and not Chrome.
But this is a request to see if perhaps FurryNetwork would be willing to put resources into developing such a browser add-on for FN officially. I know it would entice many users of FA Extender (of which Mozilla lists there being over 1,500) to be more active on FN, myself included.
