What happened to suggesting tags? Or blacklist tags in submission?

Vas 7 years ago 0

It kinda seems like the site died. Many features "planned after launch" were 3 years ago never happened and input seems like it goes no where. I dunno. I had high hopes for the site.

I came back today and found that I can't tag people's stuff for them when they tag it incorrectly. Like a guy who put human hyper in my feed and I wanted it gone because I have both human, and hyper, blocked. I wanted to add the tags but I couldn't, there was no option anymore.

Also, I was telling someone on FA that the site shows art that is blocked because of tags in your list as a white square with "blacklisted" with a list of the blacklisted tags. I came here to show, but it seems like now the site just removes those things from the ability to view them in searches or your inbox.

Followers/Following Suddenly Reset to Zero

Nero1024 7 years ago 0

Nobody is following me anymore and I'm suddenly not following other artists. This appears to be same for other artists too. It's like everyone un-followed each other. What happened?

Is it possible for a furry network app for mobile phones to be developed by a 3rd party? (with permission of course)

Art title visibility

Issac Sarrowtail 7 years ago 0

Just something that bugging me, there has to be a way to make a title to a piece visible if it over runs the margins. Right now there is nothing save for checking the page header.

filter recent submissions

C_For_oyote 8 years ago updated by The T C. 6 years ago 1

Is there a way, or would it be possible to add one, to filter what shows up on my home page's recent submissions page? Currently getting a lot of stuff that I'm not interested in at all, but don't want to completely block the associated tags for when I'm browsing.

Add an ALL tab to galleries

nadim321 8 years ago updated by Digby (Community Manager) 8 years ago 1

We have tabs in out galleries

for artwork, photos, stories and Multimedia. Problem is, if you aren't someone who uploads Artwork, whoever is visiting your gallery will think that it's empty. I propose adding a "ALL" tab which displays all file types in the gallery. This ALL tab will be the first visible tab that users will see when they first see your gallery, so that it displays all file types.

I hope that makes sense :)

Dragging text on the submission page discards whatever you've been working on

Manual 8 years ago updated by Digby (Community Manager) 8 years ago 1

Something I've encountered recently while I was writing a journal entry. If you (accidentally) drag anything on the journal entry page (for example text) it will show you the file upload dialog which automatically discards everything and throws you back to the submissions list.

This could be fixed either by disabling drag and drop while already on a submission editing page or by adding autosave.

.@FurryNetwork I just lost my story/journal entry that I was writing because I randomly dragged some text on the screen. pic.twitter.com/XyBNaZwmM7

Add a "Hot" page to the Gallery area?

John 9 years ago updated by Digby (Community Manager) 9 years ago 4

I have noticed that due in part to the current content viewing algorithm in the Gallery section of the website, a sort of social oligarchy of several artists has spawned, overruling the majority of the artist community, who simply has their art placed into Most Recent and buried under multitudes of other newly-published works of art. This makes it rather difficult for newer artists on the website to get their content noticed. The closest we currently have to a good compromise is Most Popular Last Week and Most Popular Last Month, and even then that doesn't really solve the problem. Personally, I think that it would be best to have a "Hot" section (stop giggling and let me explain) like what Reddit has, a section for posts that have accumulated a significant amount of traffic or other potential form of rating so that newer, more praiseworthy content can be quickly identified. I think that a system like this could greatly benefit from a simpler form of rating, like upvotes and downvotes or likes and dislikes.

Search Fields and Filters for Commissions

Digby (Community Manager) 9 years ago updated 9 years ago 2

We're planning to create much more thorough ways to search for sellers open for commissions. At this point, it's really only possible to search by characters, and this really limits the tool, especially for new sellers. By improving the search engine, we're hoping to help users find sellers they love.

Here are a few of the search field ideas we have:

  • Media type
  • What the creator will or won't draw/write/etc.
  • Artists' specialties (paws/action poses/etc.)
  • Price range

What are some other fields or filters that you'd want?

Multimedia uploads not hitting Draft Mode

Tantroo 9 years ago updated by Glyren 2 years ago 2

I go to upload a multimedia file and submit the item from my computer (using both the drag and select from browser method). The file hits 100% and doesn't do anything from there.

Usually a few icons will show on the upload once it's ready to be worked in draft mode and the draft count will +1. This does not occur. Leaving the screen will have the file effectively go away (no draft, as if it were not uploaded at all).

I tried uploading a image using the Artwork uploaded and it is working as expected, so it only seems to be multimedia under this problem.
