filter recent submissions

Is there a way, or would it be possible to add one, to filter what shows up on my home page's recent submissions page? Currently getting a lot of stuff that I'm not interested in at all, but don't want to completely block the associated tags for when I'm browsing.

Yeah, I even tried to block people on the recent submissions and it still shows their art.

Why is it this way?
