News feed showing submissions no longer in user's gallery (500 error)
I'm stumbling over a lot of unexpected 500 errors recently when opening submissions from my news feed. Upon opening the details of a submission it just says "500 an unexpected error occurred".
When I opened the user's page and looked into their gallery, the picture shown to me on my newsfeed wasn't anywhere to find in their gallery page, probably causing the 500 error to show up. Or maybe the picture still is in the user's profile, just not public, since it keeps showing up despite reloading the news page. I can even interact with it (promoting, faving) without error and reloading keeps the interactions intact. But the submission page always results in a 500 error.
During news feed aggregation there should be a check if the current logged in user is able to view the pic's submission page before it is presented in the news feed, as this type of behavior is hell of a lot confusing.
Error 500
About half the pictures I have in my gallery and some galleries of the people I watch are unable to be brought up. I get a screen with a message that says:
500
An Unexpected Error Has Occurred?
Any clue as to what this is and/or how to deal with this?
Please consider making the follow button change shape if you've followed the user
Right now, the difference between the appearance of the button between the pages of a followed and a non-followed user is just too subtle, and I always end up having to stare at the button for a few seconds if I don't remember whether I'm following this person - or if I'm just not sure that my click of the follow button registered.
On top of maybe changing the colour of the button, making it change shape is a much more reliable way of making sure everybody who uses the site (INCLUDING colourblind users, and I'm not even (that) colourblind myself) can tell the difference.
Art is stuck in Drafts
After importing my gallery from FA, it turns out that seemingly arbitrarily pieces of art I want to categorize and make public will not save.
It's stuck in drafts and no matter what I do, if I click on 'save', it will not actually save the new settings and move to public.
For all i can see, this happens completely arbitrarily. I would be able to save three images, and then the next five won't upload, and then another four from a set of five will work again...
Is there a size or upload limit I am not aware of?
Am I using too many keywords?
This just seems odd.
Tested in Chrome, Firefox and IE11. All gave the same results on the same images (the ones NOT saving, that is.)
Favorites not showing up since moving it from the "Artwork" section.
Any submissions I favorite, through any interface, do not show up in my Favorites under the Home menu. However I favorite an image, it will show as favorited any time I open that image, but the favorites list itself just isn't updating.
Silent Submission
I understand there's an "unlisted" option, but that's not quite what I'm going for here. I think it would be nice if we could submit things without causing a notification to followers, but it still being very much public facing. Be it because of a mass upload and not wanting to flood your followers (importing, for example) or perhaps uploading a multipage comic and only wanting the title page to appear in folk's notifications to avoid spoilers.
This can now be done. When making submissions public, you may now uncheck the option to show the submission to the fresh feed and What's New feeds. I'd recommend publishing the title page first, then publishing the other pages of a comic with that unchecked.
Unless scrolled to the top of the "What's New" page, Clear All does not work
Already posted as an idea at (http://support.furrynetwork.com/topics/399-scroll-to-the-top-of-the-whats-new-page-when-clear-all-is-clicked/) but I feel that it is more of a bug that the "Clear All" button is visible, yet clicking it (without being at the top of the page) has no effect unless you scroll all the way up. Clicking the "Clear All" button should present a confrirmation regardless of scroll status
The site has gone under redesign, and at this point, clicking "Clear All" works even when scrolled down. This no longer appears to be an issue.
Is it human art allowed?
Hihi! The thing is that I'm dual artist, I draw furry but I draw also humans, tons of them. Specially miqo'tes (nekos). In FA I'm alright uploading it but here I have no idea. My gallery would be so empty with only my furry art XD
Timed auto removal
So due to me recently being an idiot I thought up this small thing that could be kind of neat and useful for sales, YCHs, auctions, character sales etc.
A timer that automatically takes the image submitted off of the public listing once the timer reaches the end. The timer could even be on various other pages like your home page if you have say a sale up for grabs. A bit more visual than the commission tab (that is still WIP)
Since FN works with the whole draft, public system all it would need to do is change the public image, etc. to Draft form when timer is done.
We are currently planning on creating an alternate type of submissions - announcements. With this, there will be a timer for these to automatically disappear after a certain amount of time. This should cover the bases for stream announcements or sales.
