Can't Delete Story Submissions

BrockTanuki 9 years ago updated by Varka (Spokesdragon) 9 years ago 3

I wrote up a short little story and put it into my public folder. From there, I was still able to edit it to my heart's content, but a day later, when I decided to simply delete the submission, it wouldn't budge. I've had to resort to stuffing it into my Unlisted folder in order to hide it for now.

No 500 Error or anything, I'm just returned to my submissions list after hitting delete. I have seen the Public/Unlisted/Draft folders take a second or two to update, but this goes beyond that.

Friends

Introduce a similar expansion that allows us to post art that we only share with our friends similar to what other sites are doing. Make it possible to select to who we want to publish journals or submissions.

Submissions in activity feed have by-line and username interchanged

Catsalog 9 years ago updated by Digby (Community Manager) 8 years ago 1

For submissions In my activity feed, the by-line and username seem to be interchanged. For example, in the screenshot below, the by-line should read "Vidan" and the username should read "@catsalog".

Looking at other profiles confirms the same behavior.

(I tried looking for an existing bug report, so hopefully this isn't a duplicate.)

Answer

I'm unsure what was causing this issue at the time, but it appears that it has been fixed. I have not seen it on any other profile, and it now appears correctly on your submissions. If there are still issues, though, feel free to commend and let us know.

Change the alert "<Anon Pic> Someone favorited <Submission> <Thumbnail>" to "<thumbnail> <Submission> became a favorite."

Beast Shocked NSFW 9 years ago updated by Digby (Community Manager) 8 years ago 3

Gotta admit the current phrasing is a little bit creepy and the anonymous user pic doesn't really help. Just show the thumbnail of the submission and leave out "someone" and the anonymous user pic. Honestly, for a long time i thought it was just broken because of all the default user pictures.

Answer

At this point, the alert has been removed; only promotions appear as a notification. Favorites are treated more as a private collection, so it makes sense not to have that notification.

Add button to batch publish imported art from oldest to newest.

Fuzzypaws 9 years ago updated by Digby (Community Manager) 8 years ago 1

If you have several hundred imported images, it looks like a pain in the tail to publish them all, or even to find the oldest ones to do them manually. It would be nice to automate the process. I'm okay with the batch process stopping on each image to ask if the old imported tags are okay or if this old thing you imported is something you actually want to keep, as long as it takes the messy grind out of sorting through and clicking on a bajillion pictures by hand.

Answer

The site has undergone design changes, and this is now possible. When looking at drafts, there's an option at the bottom of the screen to publish all drafts. You can also select multiple images in drafts and publish all those. Hopefully this will be sufficient in making the importing process easier for users.

Favorites Not Anon

Mew 9 years ago updated by Digby (Community Manager) 8 years ago 2

I personally find knowing who favorited your submissions as a way to find new artists. It's nice to know who favorited and having notifications for it.

Answer

We're likely going to change the wording for this later. Currently, promotions will show notifications, but favorites won't; we are considering this more of a private way to gather art in a location. We will likely change "promotion" to "favorite," then "favorite" to "add to collection" to help make this clearer.

Faster Way of switching Submission Types

Akulatraxas 9 years ago updated by Digby (Community Manager) 8 years ago 1

I just imported 700 photos from FA and now need to click every photo, wait for the sidebar to load, then use the dropdown to switch submission type, click "yes" (the sidebars closes and every other changes are lost without any further notice! bad!) , switch to "Photos -> Drafts" click the same picture again, same sidebar, click public, click save.

6 clicks for a single picture!

Together with overborded browser when confronted with an endless scrolling 700 picture thumbnail page (and eating your RAM for breakfast) is that a task i just don't want to do.

Give me a possibility to just list the submissions, without the pictures (or a very very small expandable thumbnail) in a big table and switch everything i need to to there and then hit save. I save 5 clicks this way!

Answer

The site has undergone some changes, and it's now much simpler to change categories for multiple images at once. When editing, click on multiple images to select the ones needing changed, then change the category in the menu to the correct option. This will hopefully be a quick process now!

If you do need any more information or instructions, feel free to let us know here.

SMS Password Recovery

Vas 9 years ago updated by Digby (Community Manager) 8 years ago 1

For those who want to bind their phone to their account for password recovery (or other purposes should notifications on the site allow users to toggle sms on), allowing them to have multiple methods other than just some email to recover a password or should an email become comprimised or an account be hijacked, the phone can serve as an alternate way to get your account back either by reset code sms or just proving your identity via phone.
