I was thinking double clicking might be contributing, since there have been support tickets regarding the vague states of the following/unfollow icons, but if that's the case then unfollowing someone isn't reducing their follow numbers— Every time I've seen this happen the number has gone up by 2.

Spooky!

I still have the uncensored images if looking at the relevant accounts would help FN with determining the cause of this strange, intermittent bug. I probably shouldn't complain about an inflated follow count, artificial or otherwise, but this is happening with such frequency that I doubt I'm the only one experiencing it!

I must admit that the concern about transparent .png file size is rather baffling when FN already allows uploads of up to 32MB for individual images, as indicated by FN's own blog post? I honestly think most people will find it difficult to exceed that limitation— I myself have made multiple detailed 11x14in/600PPI prints, and they rarely exceed 12MB as a .png. Not that I would consider uploading those instead of a .jpg for web display...

But when I upload a transparent image— I expect it to be transparent.

If I wanted a background added to the image I would have done it myself!

I like Banderi's suggestion. I think renaming "Favorite" to "Like" is an appropriate solution. Members should be more familiar with likes being privately saved for them from using other social media sites like tumblr, Twitter, and Facebook where this practice has already been well established.

Just wanted to drop a comment and say that this is still occurring:

This also applies to #tags.

In addition, without the horizontal rule the post link was entirely absent in the feed.

This seems to be functioning as expected now?

This is not fixed.

Please consider reopening this ticket, or migrating to pagination (for more reasons) instead.

Endless scrolling and the persistent bugs are making browsing through artwork incredibly painful.

I was also looking for these at registration. I hope FN will implement them soon.
