Allow different types of writer and artist submissions

Fane Star 8 years ago updated by Digby (Community Manager) 7 years ago 3

Rather than lumping all writers into one category there should be a way to submit different types of writings. Such as story (which already exists), poem, song/lyrics, and any other types of writing. The same thing should be done with artists. Having different types of artist submissions without having to filter through the tags to find different types, such as digital, traditional, sculptor, painter, and sewers (plushie makers, kigu/costume makers, and the likes).

Private Messages

Vas 8 years ago updated by Digby (Community Manager) 7 years ago 1

I'd like an actual private message system, which sends a message much like sending a note on FA. Not some live conversation tool that we have now. Rename that to "conversations", and give us a private message feature like the notes on FA but with the formatting tools that let you format your message much like the formatting tool found here in this input slot I'm typing in now.

Also this for chat system.

Can't change FurAffinity Username for Import?

Origamyst 8 years ago updated by Rykomi (Support Admin) 8 years ago 1

So the actual problem is I used to have two accounts on Furaffinity, and wanted to know if there's a way to change the username of import, if it is allowed or if they plan to let us do it in the future. I didn't find another topic on the matter, it was only about wrong usernames. Don't want to cause any trouble!

Navigation Bar Breaks at in-between sizing

bellesandwhispers 8 years ago 0

When the browser is at a large scale, the navigation is a set of full-name links (Artwork, Photos, Etc.), and when shrunk down, it converts to just icons for those links. Unfortunately it looks like the dimensions that trigger that shift is a little off. Somewhere in-between it breaks in two different ways before shifting one way or the other:

1) From around 1342px wide down to 1317px, the notification button overlaps the Support link.

Image 234

2) At what seems to be exactly 1314px wide, the notification button and user dropdown both shift down beneath everything to a second line.

Image 235

Shifting to 1313px wide the navigation suddenly snaps to the icons and the other buttons pop back up into the normal alignment. And anything above the ~1342px wide seems to be fine as far as no overlap.

Profile setting for landing page.

Argali 8 years ago updated by Ryu (Support Admin) 8 years ago 1

Having a setting so it can be selected that the main page shows latest art sumissions instead of the most populars.

Hey there,

I do believe that if you select 'Fresh' instead of most popular, this will give you the latest art submissions.

Unban [content type here] from Furry Network

Varka (Spokesdragon) 8 years ago updated 8 years ago 0 2 duplicates

Hello all,

We've had a number of idea threads created on the support system, all in a similar vein, calling for the banning or unbanning of some content type from Furry Network.

We want to be sure we take the time to provide an in-depth response to these requests, and as such have collected them all here, on this suggestion thread.

Once things have calmed down a little, tempers are running a little cooler, and we've had a chance to draft up a full, detailed response to the concerns raised, we'll post it here.

During the rush to bring the support system under control shortly after we announced our recent content policy change, we mistakenly deleted two threads on this topic - and gave no indication of if they'd return - or if it was just censorship. To clarify, we'd like to address the concerns raised in them. Sorry we didn't make this clear from the outset.

Separately, we think that the support system is not well suited to contentious issues with "sides". It's great for mainly technical problems where all participants are judging comments on the basis of their technical merit, but it descends quickly into a "battle" between warring sides - something which is notorious for breaking down into name-calling rather rapidly - for more contentious issues such as site policy. We'll be working to to see if we can find a better medium for encouraging and facilitating feedback on policy-type stuff - as it's clear the support system isn't really cut out for the job.

Thanks

Ability to Pin Journals / Announcements to Userpage

Insomniacovrlrd (tom smith) 8 years ago updated by Digby (Community Manager) 7 years ago 1

It seems we're definitely going to get journals in some fashion or another.

When we do, the ability to have the user select a specific one to always be the one displayed on the page is important. People use them for longterm announcements, project schedules (that they keep updating), as well as space to just permanently have a journal up.

Preferably, hitting whatever 'read more' link it has would bring you to a list of all journals, the pinned journal being where in the list you are carried to. This way users can browse through your previous journals, but cursory viewers of your page can still get the need-to-know information in your pinned journal at a moment's glance.
