Someone said that the current system is "Public faves" (Promotes) and "Private Faves" (Faves). I think the idea of a private fave is a good one and your current twitter poll shows that most users want the ability to set their faves to private. I think the collection functionality should be separate from the "instant positive feedback" functionality.

Personally I'd like to see it split into three:

  • Promote - The current promote functionality
  • Fave - The anonymous private kudos functionality minus the auto-add to collection.
  • Collect - Doesn't tell the artist anything, just adds it to the user's collection.

And then I'd like to see the collection functionality expanded to include folders. And then add the ability to display folders on a user's page. So people can show off their collections of art. ("My Digimon Tean," "My Top ten favorite dragon pics," "Photos from last convention," etc.)

I'm against censorship, but the truth is i could get thrown in jail if some cop or TSA agent decided to search my phone, opened up my browser and found cub porn on my feed because some idiot forgot to tag it on FN and the mods haven't found it yet. My personal safety and freedom is more important to me than my feelings towards censorship. I admire the idealism behind the anti-censorship argument, but the reality is that furry porn is already viewed as deviant and allowing cub porn is just asking for legal trouble and putting its users at risk as well. There are other sites that allow cub porn--it's not like FN would be banning cub porn from the internet. Please ban it from FN, I don't trust users to tag it appropriately and I don't trust moderators to catch untagged works 100% of the time.

I really want a truly private way to give a "thumbs up" to artists. Favorites add it to a collection, which is not always what users want--maybe they just want a quick way to say good job without adding something to their porn collection. Promote feels like a way to re-tweet something or say "this is my brand," hahaha. But there is no simple "like."

Yeah, I support using something like EmogiOne.

Meh, just add the option to list your @mentions on your profile page with a little post box underneath that auto prepends @user.

If you guys really want to stand out and provide something that hasn't been done well on other sites, give some focus to privacy and being able to like/follow NSFW stuff without it showing up on the user's profile.

Personally I prefer "Character" to "Profile."

One solution would be to add a "profile type" field with "character," "fursuiter," "artist," etc. that would act as a title on the site. Profiles would read in Name (Character), or Group Name, or Name-Artist or something like that.

Meh, it might be easier to integrate Telegram or something into the site rather than coding a chat room.

Yeah, delete/rename characters is important. And so is the ability to completely remove an account. The site is not really feature complete IMHO if users can never leave it.
