Yeah, filenames are very important I guess. Having the artist name and a decent image name in the file should be mandatory.

for example this image: https://beta.furrynetwork.com/artwork/502249/winter-is-coming/fullscreen

You could easily generate the name from the address:

<artist name ()>_<number ()>_<image name()>

My importer is stuck at "importing your follows". A few minutes went up to a day now. I don't see anything getting imported at all.

I wanted to fill my artwork folder and have exactly the same problem as the OP.

Upload looks fine but link on the image is broken and can't delete the artwork anywhere.
