Delete All Deletes Everything--Need Delete Selected/Visible/Hidden

Calyo Delphi 9 years ago updated by Sidian 9 years ago 7

I was just now working on clearing out my feed, and I tried hiding some of the categories of feed entries so that I could only focus on deleting the ones I had no interest in. When I hit "Delete All", thinking it would delete only what was toggled visible, it deleted **everything**, including the feed entries that were hidden.

I'm pretty sure this is intended behavior, but I think it would be really handy to have some way to hide certain categories from the feed (like Stories and Posts, for example) and then delete everything else that's still being displayed. Kind of like FurAffinity's "Invert Selection" and "Delete Selected" features. Select what you want to keep, hit Invert Selection, then Delete Selected, and it gets rid of everything you don't want in your inbox anymore.

A similar feature for the feed would be super handy.

Hey all -

We reworked our Feed page a few weeks ago - is it still deleting everything, even when you have filters on?

To add to this suggestion, please add a confirmation dialog box when you hit "Delete All" so it won't happen by accident.

Seconded. There needs to be something that doesn't delete EVERYTHING, but is significantly faster than simply dismissing entries one by one. A way to delete everything currently visible (that is, not filtered out) or to directly delete all notification of a certain would be ideal.

As a specific use case: I usually dismiss journal posts without reading them unless they're recent and have a good title, so a way to dismiss all those without dismissing art by the user would be helpful for that workflow.

I think there needs to be a delete all for specific items(ie Artwork, Photos, Stories, etc).

I agree with all the ideas listed. If I had to put priority on one of them I'd say deletion by category would be the one.

This doesn't exactly fit this request but I think it's relevant to the "Delete All" option. In my opinion the connotation of "Delete" is far too strong, something like "Clear all" or "Clear feed" would sound better and feel less concerning to a new user.

Would very much like a way to just remove selected items, like clicking the checkboxes on submission inbox on FA. Sometimes I like to remove stuff I know doesn't interest me and then go back later for a closer look at other items. At the moment there doesn't seem to be a way to do this, unless it's just me missing something again.
