Direct Deposit/Stripe for Commission payouts

Skulldog 8 years ago updated by socksthefox 8 years ago 8

Alright, so far I've heard sort of fleeting feedback via other replies here that artist payouts are given over Paypal.

As a user of Patreon, I prefer the direct to bank Stripe payments over the Paypal cash outs. (I just hate Paypal overall, it's less convient than getting money in my actual bank..)

Can we get a direct to US bank payment option? Even if it means we need to wait until we hit a certain balance limit to do so, I'd be happy to cash out to my bank at $100 increments.

Fortunately, adding new payout methods is relatively straightforward; the challenge is finding ones that work well and are desirable for artists!

I'm pretty sure this will be a thing, because FN aims to make it easy for artists to also sell mature/adult artwork, therefor payouts with paypal aren't even possible when selling such content.

Paypal also doesn't support some seller's geographical locations, so I really hope FN branches out to cover as many artists as possible with how it covers artist payouts..let's support those creators in the Euro/Asian zone!

I've never actually had issues with paypal (I'm located in finland and luckily the content I draw is within paypals accepted limits). I once got someone actually reporting me for trolls, but the case was quickly solved with proof.

But I'm very curious of what other alternatives could be used for payout in my case, paypal does have it's fees even if they're not huge ones, and would be nice to see a future for potentially offering more mature commissions if I ever start feeling comfortable drawing them.

I'm not discrediting Paypal payments at all, for a lot of people it's the ONLY option for payment! KEEP Paypal an option always, I'm only saying for me and other artists in the US, direct to bank/Stripe cashouts are much cheaper on the transfer cost, PLUS I don't have to double transfer Paypal digital dollars to real dollars into my bank which takes 4-6 days.

Or square cash or something!

I'm located in the US, so anything that deposits cash into my bank with a one time fee, instead of Paypal is priority for me. Patreon does a .25 cent Stripe transfer of ANY value, Project Wonderful does a $1 fee when you cash out any value. I just hate to pay 1.1% loss on EVERY cash out with paypal AND have to wait 6 days to transfer Paypal digital money to my bank from there.

Anything that helps reduce PayPal's stranglehold on the simple internet payment market is good in my book!
