banner upload issue

Woulfe 9 years ago updated by Digby (Community Manager) 8 years ago 11

I can't seem to upload a new banner for my page... I go through all the steps & when I refresh I get black on my page... Namely the tool says it uploads all the way to 100%.... I can edit it... but when I refresh my page... I get just a back screen where an image should be...

Glad the issue was able to get resolved! It turns out that clearing the cache solved the problem.

Hey Woulfe, your banner looks like it's showing up correctly for me, and this doesn't seem to be a case of the banner being marked 18+ while the user's account is set to not show adult content.

Could you try taking a look at your banner in a different browser and see if it's not showing up there either? Or from a different device entirely, like your phone or whatever else you may have.

Turns out you are right, it's showing up in Chrome / Firefox / Edge, just not on Opera, go fig...

Opera must have a bug in it somewhere where it won't show this site correctly...

Well that part of it anyway...

I just tested it on Opera 36.0.2130.32.

It appears to be working correctly.

Is your Opera up to date?

Do you have any plugins or addons installed?

Only ad block plus addon installed

Give it a shot and disable it for a test?

Unless there's some strange software incompatibility and if the versions are same, I'm not sure why else would Opera behave differently on your machine.

Just added this site to the whitelist

Still same issue

Not sure what's going on =P

I'm blaming Win 10 at this point

Tested more! I just successfully uploaded and used a banner on Opera on windows10 as well (even with addblock).

So it might be elsewhere, hmm.

Perhaps try cleaning your cache and cookies to see if that hepls?

humm

I'll try that

P.S. Still is acting up, oy vey

Okay, for some dumb reason Opera refused to clear it's cache, or I just couldn't find it =P

CCleaner did the trick however, cleaned it right out...

NOW the banner shows up...

I turned off Adguard on firefox and it worked
