Duplicate/superfluous updates on What's New

Sebin Nyshkim 8 years ago updated by Digby (Community Manager) 7 years ago 2

I noticed that there's many updates repeating over and over and not really having much use after a specific action has already taken place, i.e. "X is now following Y" where X is always a different user and Y is always the same user. I don't feel like it's a bug but superfluous information for me when I'm already watching Y, it doesn't really add any more infomative value other than someone else is now following someone I'm already following. Same with multiple promoted artworks or posts from other users that received comments. Maybe there is a way to reduce these into a single timeline object so it only displays once.

We are looking into grouping notification and updates for the Activity History feed. Depending on the level of complexity, it may come before or after launch.

This kinda stuff can be cool if you follow only few but they become annoying when you follow a lot of people ye. Maybe there could be a way to turn on similar notifications to collide. Such as "A, B, C followed Y"
