Being able to send submissions via private message
It would be quite nice to see a function like that!
One could basically show around submissions one has found to friends and discuss it. Maybe even a function to promote/favourize the submission within the messenger!

You can do this by uploading a submission and setting it's state to 'unlisted', from there you can link the submission but it doesn't show publicly :3
Edit: Oh, read the description and realized you meant making thumbnails for linked artwork instead, that'd be pretty cool :o

How about we only let people vote up and down who actually do this? Would be a great improvement for the website.

you really have to consider features on Deviantart both big and small when you make your own art-centric community-driven website, and that specific little feature of Deviantart is no exception.
+1 to this.
At this point, this would be a nice addition, but it's not urgent. Once we have more of the site finalized, we can look into what it would take to do this.
