Create a universal tagging system with a rating system to allow users to block tags by rating. Automatically block certain tags for all users so they have to manually unlock them.

So there was a recent request to ban cub porn on this site, and the recent response on Twitter has left a lot of people with -skewed- moral compasses more than upset.

However, I believe the solution is much simple than just restricting freedom speech (As long as no existing, living persons are being abused or harrassed.) Like Inkbunny, there should be a tagging system, however, unlike Inkbunny, this tagging system should be more universal, similar to how e621.net and other 'booru sites do this. Basically, create a synonym system to where words related to a universal tag are categorized as that one tag. For example, gay, male/male, m/m, homosexual, all get categorized as the universal tag "gay"

With this being said, This universal tagging system should have levels of rating. For example, watersports/urine can be blocked based on level of sexual lewdness or violence (General, Mature, Extreme) As the universal tagging system exists, All users should be subject to this tag blocking based on maturity level. By then, it is the user's responsibility to unblock certain features they find they like, rather than lose people due to cub art being on the ride.

This is sort of two features in one - "tag aliasing" (eg where one tag 'means' the same thing as another), and the ability to blacklist tags by rating (eg, only blacklist 'gay' if its rated mature or higher).

I can't find any topics on either by searching - so I'm going to leave this one in place to see what demand would be like for these two features.

Agreed and well put.

I totally agree with this.

I'm against banning 'any' type of artwork and I personally find it baffling that any artist worth their salt would 'want' to ban any type of art simply because "It upsets them". Yet it saddens me that certain people welcome censorship with open arms when it benefits them and them alone.
