Custom tabs on user page - "Artwork", etc. not enough

Psy Draggy 8 years ago updated by Digby (Community Manager) 7 years ago 1

Each site has their own way of grouping submissions in a user's gallery, and I really don't think "Artwork", "Photos", etc. is enough.

I get there are folders, and these are useful, but don't go far enough in my opinion.

I'd like the ability to create custom "Artwork", "Photos", etc. tabs on my user page.

Example:

I like to group artwork in three main categories: Finished work, Doodles, and Art I've Commissioned.

I'd like to be able to create three "Artwork" tabs on my user profile for visitors of the site to easily decide if they just want to see my finished work or all my doodles as well.

This would also mean being able to doodle and post at will without worrying about burying my latest finished work.

At this moment, folders are the best way to do this. You can have folders appear directly on your profile page; this way, people can easily browse those specific collections.

We don't plan on changing the gallery tab; this would be a significant amount of work, and it would essentially do the same thing that folders do now. In addition, keeping the gallery tab the same for everyone allows for a set style on everyone's page - when you click that tab, you know exactly what you'll see.

We do appreciate the suggestion!
